OUR EXPERTS
Our multidisciplinary team consists of expert admissions strategists and design instructors from top design schools
ASR was developed in 2010 by an MIT Architecture graduate, with the intent of building an admissions company that offered the best guidance to architecture school applicants.
The core idea was to merge the models of a design academy and an admissions consultancy in order to help our students build truly competitive portfolios and admissions strategies for their applications to architecture schools.
Our team consists of accomplished strategists and design instructors, who have been educated at some of the world’s top architecture schools. This multidisciplinary team of talented experts allows ASR to be constantly at the forefront of innovation, providing new ways for our students to not only succeed in gaining admission to top architecture schools, but to also self-imagine, self-create and self-discover as future architects.

Our success stems from a company culture, which bridges innovation with a single-minded purpose of helping our students get into the world’s best architecture schools. Our work processes are objective-driven and project-centered, and have been developed through years of work with thousands of applicants.
Over the years, we have realized the importance of approaching the application as a well-integrated whole. This means that a well-researched and calibrated strategy is always at the core of any application that we work on, bridging all of its elements. Throughout our process, we maintain a rational, strategic approach to the design and development of our students’ Portfolios, for the purpose of maximizing their chances of success.
Over the years we have developed excellent understanding of how admissions committees of top architecture programs think, what they expect to see, and what truly appeals to them. We are able to use this knowledge to help advance the content of our students’ portfolios.
We understand that the expectations of Architecture School admissions committees change constantly. We are also well aware of the fact that our students’ competitors get better every year. This is the reason why our approach is not formulaic. Every hour that we spend working on our students’ Portfolios is an hour during which we get to improve our process so that we can help them stay at least one step ahead of everyone else.
We understand clearly that no strategy, no-matter how well-defined, can ever be enough in and of itself. The development of a beautiful, cohesive, well-themed, narrative portfolio is the essence and the reason for our process. We are experts in translating the complex and unique strategies that we help build, into competitive portfolios for admission to the world’s top schools of architecture.
Since 2010, we have been developing tools and methodologies that apply to different parts of the Portfolio design and development process, from analyzing a Portfolio’s level of competitiveness, to building Portfolio strategies and themes, to skill development or content development, as well as Portfolio formatting. Every time we use our methods, we discover something new that could improve our performance as consultants and instructors. It is an exciting process of daily discovery.
Our group of consultants consists of graduates of top architecture programs like Harvard, Yale, MIT, Columbia, Cornell and others, who bring their own experiences of success to the table and work independently or collaboratively to help our students be equally successful in the development of their portfolios.
With a reference archive of over 600 Portfolios that we helped develop, we are able to learn from the lessons of the past and develop Portfolios that appeal to the toughest architecture school admissions committees.
Thorough, Facts-based research is at the core of any portfolio we develop. This allows us to make the best recommendations possible and ensure positive results for our students.
